The Well Ace Gang

In the early 2000's right through to the early 2010's there formerly was a group about known as The Well Ace Gang, this being a group that was set up by a number of Wargrave/Lakeside students who would arrange gatherings with a number of other students who attended the school/college. I know some of you might be wondering why it was given such a strange name as the initials WAG usually stands for wives and girlfriends of high profile sportsmen but even I dont know why it was given this weird name in the first place. There was even the groups own website which showed photos of previous gatherings either at places like: The Trafford Centre, The Chill Factore, Liverpool, etc or even events at houses of select individuals who were celebrating birthdays or other spacial occasions too.

Not a lot is known about the group as I was only briefly a part of it and this being when it was being wound down as the main people who ran it were moving onwards and it was thought best to close the group altogether seeing as a lot of them would likely end up being too busy to plan and attend future gatherings OR worse would end up loosing contact completely. Although I tried to briefly take charge the attempts for meetups ended up going pearshaped as people would either not be able to attend due to commitments elsewhere, not have an interest, not wish to interact with myself or in the case of some claim it wasn't like what it used to be. As a result of the three failed attempts for Liverpool and Southport meets it ceased running altogether with the site being deleted shortly afterwards. A new method is run as of 2022 through certain people but sadly im not a part of this one owing to being disliked by select individuals including one that badmouthed me for my photography work plus select others for unknown reasons.

In the days I was involved though there were a good number of events which were planned through it which included a small meet at the Trafford Centre for an afternoon's shopping spree and another was at Southport which involved an afternoon's bowling session at Premier Bowl. One of the most remembered events was an old school friend's 18th birthday which saw us meet up at the Trafford Centre for a meal and party at a restaurant I cannot remember the name of. One thing I do remember though is that Sarah who at the time still had a YouTube channel "RockinDizzyRolla" was filming a small part of the gathering and at one point we were referencing jokes from Mock the Week, one in particular which had first been said by Russell Howard was then altered by Hannah and she came out saying the joke as "I have amnesia the tattoo's on my body will tell me what happened (lifts shirt) Sarah was here" At which point we all just pissed ourselves laughing with Sarah laughing the hardest & it was on camera too.

Other occasions include Claire's birthday which although only a handful of us were there allowed us to catch up on things that had happened but also look through some of the old scripts which had been drawn up as part of a small script group we'd set up at Wargrave which was known as Tiddley Splat. Basically it saw us writing up scripts for cartoons including existing chartacters e.g Noddy and writting up our own storys. During one of the school's productions "Transition TV" we put this to use in creating an advert for a VHS/DVD that was available to purchase. Two of the three we made I remember the names of which included Barbie Goes To Boot Camp & the second was Noddy's Dangerous Driving, basically it showed one of our classmates dressed as Noddy riding a scooter and everyone had to jump out of the way. Infact when it came to recording the footage for the latter when having to do the jump out of the way when landing on the floor I actually hurt my knee. For our main performance we even put our script writing to good use by planning out our act as a sketch of the TV series "Friends" which showed us in the future talking about our pasts (this included video flashbacks which was to originally be parts of a DVD which showed positive and negative conversations, this idea however got scrapped). One conversation had Oliver randomly bringing up Emu's (the animal type NOT electric multiple unit's) & Hannah talking to Alistair about the new Pink Panther 2 film and he randomly changed the subject which she found boring. The one that I featured in included me talking to Jamie (in the days when we got on with each other positively) talking about the film Inkheart and Callum tried to change the subject. It basically ended with Jamie saying "Shall we go somewhere else David" & I responded with "I agree, lets go". Alongside this we were also talking about what we were up to at the then present time. For me I mentioned that I was working in Formula 1 (however had it been done in later years id have said that I was working on steam locomotives at West Coast Railways as a fireman, although not all that in one sentence though) I'd probably have just said I worked on Steam Locomotives in Carnforth.

Anyway returning to the WAG group after it was discontinued not much else was planned group meets wise that I was involved in. In recent years there have been occasions where those who I formerly interacted with have met up with people at their own flats or even at family homes for occasions and through clips via Instagram can show them playing on games consoles or chatting about other things like the Simpsons. One occasion being when Callum brought up the comment: "We have to kill the boy", with another responding with the line "how do you know he's a vampire" & Callum then finished off with "he's a vampire" before running off. It's unknown what else goes on as not everything is recorded but some photos can been seen showing what was happening which even one year included the Southport fireworks (this being pre-covid im gonna add). Not much else is known sadly about what goes on as most other occasions aren't posted about on Instagram and none of them record video's for YouTube as both Sarah & Hannah no longer have YouTube channels. Officially I think im now the only one left with a YouTube channel, had mine for 12 years with it being launched on 1st Jan 2010.

The only other times it's known that something has happened is through Sarah's blogs on her page Small Town Autistic Woman. This can also include photos that have been shared through her page or on the facebook page she has for STAW (Pity she didn't call it Small Town Autistic Girl as it could've then been called STAG).

To sum up really it's unknown what goes on now and it's unlikely i'll find out since most of those who I was in contact with wont speak with me anymore or there are others who I refuse to interact with either through the way they've spoken to me OR through stunts they've done in the past which include cheating on women. But there are some who I still speak with and even if they arent as majorly successful as the other gatherings and dont have as many people attend it's still better than nothing. For some they may never belive that certain individuals will never change as they get older, but for others there's nothing wrong with giving them a chance to prove themselves.

Stay tuned for future posts
